This daughter, Mary Dickson, would be the descendant of the Ballintoy Stewarts through the female line who married into the MacCready family listed in "The Stewarts of Ballintoy", by Rev. George Hill, 1865, p.22.

The further existance of Mary is supporthard Stephen & Sandy Wilson lderly woman residing with her McCready grandchildren in a log cabin in the western Pennsylvania woods, which is today Beaver County, mentioned in "The McCready Clan", by Marie McConnell, 1965.

Furthermore, this Mary is obviously the "lost link" to royalty which has been discussed within the history of the McCready family for so many years, for it is through her blood descendancy from the Ballintoy Stewarts we can trace her line back through the royal Stewarts of Scotland and all their documented ancestors. According to the McConnell book, as late as the 1940 family reunion, the McCready family historian had mentioned the royal ancestry and it had been said there was a relationship with Mary, Queen of Scots. The exact relationship with Mary the Queen shows her as being a cousin to the Stewarts of Bute. Documented evidence of the royal relationship seems nonexistant in 20th century family histories except that mentioned in the McConnell book. This is yet another reason to write down your memories and family histories as information passed by word of mouth alone can become corrupted and eroded away into swirling snippets of speech.
